Something Different…

ComicServer is on Hiatus (Kind of)

ComicServer has been on a downward trend recently when speaking about quality of the monthly updates that have been pushed to ComicServer since December 2021. ComicServer has been on a downward trend recently when speaking about quality of the monthly updates that have been pushed to ComicServer since December 2021. To put that into perspective, that’s 21 monthly releases (besides the 2 releases that were in the same month) and 2 major versions (Cesium and Muncie).

ComicServer isn’t going into hiatus like Passband or dispatch did, ComicServer has no shortage of concept features and ideas. The release schedule is just too often and ComicServer doesn’t truly need more updates. Also Replit is not the most amazing IDE.

ComicServer Daily will remain unaffected by the changes.

What hiatus means for ComicServer in comparison to Passband is that releases will be staggered and, frankly, you won’t be seeing Muncie 15 anytime soon, let alone 16. This is probably not the death of ComicServer. After all, it has been on hiatus before. Twice.

To end on a happy note, here’s some ideas for future ComicServer:

  • ComicBrowser integration into Summary
  • ComicServer Daily account creation built-in
  • Account Deletion built-in
  • Dilbert (Classics) removed from Favorites pages.
  • Special AI-generated comics in Explore
