Something Different…

I’ve Been Wondering The Same Thing Myself Lately.

I believe that while, yes, good endings are amazing, not everything should deserve one. Some of the best things I’ve written (Presswave content included) have ended on the sourest of notes. The way that something ends is crucial to not only itself, but the more general picture as well. If George Washington didn’t issue the ending to his presidency, the Farewell Address, setting the precedent for two term limits in the US, It’s safe to say the world would be much different. I could think of countless examples for similar events, but what it boils down to is that, no matter the feelings attached, endings should be adored for the part they play in each and every life.

The way an ending is created and delivered is crucial to how it is received. If President Nixon kept in office until he was forced out, that would’ve had a different reaction than what actually happened. I’ve tried my very best to end ComicServer on a concise and uncomplicated note. It ended, and therefore it’s finished. No prolonged endings, no messy aftermath, just a quick and hasty ending, in order to prevent spoiling ComicServer in the future.

There are so many clever ways of saying farewell. The vast methods (even if they seem strange) all have their unique effect ranging from sadness and grief all the way to cheers and applause.

Sometimes it ends with a goodbye,
Sometimes it ends with a dream,
Sometimes it ends with an afterglow,
And sometimes it ends with suicide, albeit the Rock ‘n’ Roll type.
