Muncie 14 is the new era of Muncie
You could think of Muncie 14 as the Cesium/Valley (v5.4) of the Muncie line of releases. A different approach to a version, improving on functionality rather than styling. In the case of Valley, it did not end well, but with Muncie 14, we made sure not to make drastic changes to the stellar MuncieUI.
Muncie 14 adds Explore, a new way of finding and searching through comics. We cataloged all of our comics, and got a whole 710, all available through Explore (with the exception of Dilbert and Dilbert Classics). Searching is easy, just start typing and the list of comics will filter out names that are not applicable. You can search by name or author.
There are also a few changes to the Preferences page, a redesigned interface and three new controls, the new add slot function, force-refresh, and a SmartBar toggle.
The add slot function is now integrated into the Preferences menu. Once you navigate through the explore page and to a comic using Summary, you’ll see a plus icon next to the title of the comic. Clicking that will redirect you back to the Prefs page and will let you preview the slot with the new slot UI. You then have the option to cancel or confirm.
Force-Refresh helps people in different timezones get the most up-to-date comics available on their home page, simply click the button. The SmartBar toggle does exactly what you might think. We removed the SmartBar in this update to encourage use of Explore and Summary, but ComicBrowser is still accessible through the SmartBar.
Last but not least, we polished MuncieUI with the greetings from csDaily on the home page, and have a brand new splash-screen that stays there until your favorites are loaded that says Good Morning, Good Afternoon, or Good Evening based on your local time, followed by your username.
This was probably the longest Feat yet, but it was worth it.
